Whitewater Rafting

Whitewater Rafting

The Main Salmon River, also known as the famous ‘ River of No Return’, flows through the 2nd deepest canyon in the North American continent, deeper than the Grand Canyon. It then flows into Snake River at Hell’s Canyon, the deepest canyon in the North American continent.   The stretch we raft, the Riggins stretch,  is considered ‘Idaho’s Whitewater Capital .  It offers plenty of class III and a few IV rapids depending on the water flows and sections floated. You can choose your level of difficulty.  It is a great float for beginners and experienced whitewater rafters alike.

Other attractions include:

  • Deep River with big waves, very few stoppers, and good run outs
  • Beautiful large sandy beaches
  • Longest non dammed river in the lower 48
  • Summer day time air temperatures are 80 – 90 degrees (F)
  • Relative humidity is between 25 – 35%
  • Water temperatures rise to low 70’s (F) during warmest days – excellent for swimming
  • 5-7 pm canyon shadows make for ideal camping and sleeping temperature

It is a wonderful family adventure for young and old alike, starting at 7 years of age and going to your physical and age limitations. We can customize a trip just for your group and skill level.
